PIPE CRAWLER RECEIVES PATENT
Dr. Edward Grant, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and director of the Center For Robotics and Intelligent Machines (CRIM) at NC State University, and Dr. John F. Muth, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at NC State, along with their students have received a U.S. patent for their pipe-crawling robot. Department Profile
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is an
internationally known department that offers Master of Science
(M.S.) and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Computer
Engineering or Electrical Engineering, and a Master of Science
degree in Computer Networking. The Department offers the opportunity
for study in a large variety of ECE specialties as well as
for cross-disciplinary research in areas such as biomedical
engineering, textile engineering, genomics, materials science
and engineering, mathematics and statistics.
Approximately 500 students are enrolled in graduate studies.
This large enrollment allows the Department to provide a rich
offering of graduate-level courses and research topics, and
over the past five years more than 30 graduate-level courses
have been offered each term. In addition, there are many opportunities
