The Plan of Graduate
Work is
a formal written list of all the courses in which an individual graduate
student plans to enroll in order to complete
the academics requirements for a desired degree. The Plan of Work
should be submitted before the end of the second semester’s enrollment. Master’s
students must submit their plan no later than four weeks from the beginning
of the semester in which they intend to graduate. Doctoral students must
submit their plan of work, along with their committee prior to taking the
qualifying review. The qualifying review must be taken by the end of the
third semester of enrollment for students with a master’s degree and
by the end of the fourth semester of enrollment for student with only a
bachelor’s degree. Details of the requirements for all ECE degrees
are given in the ECE Graduate
Student Handbook.
Examples of recommended plans of work in various specialty
areas are given below. Note that most plans assume the student is starting
in the fall semester. Care should be taken to determine in
which semester
courses
are taught. The semester schedules are given in the table of
core courses on page 10 of the ECE
Graduate Student Handbook.
