With its focus on how people teach and learn engineering, there is much interest in academia and industry about the possibilities of teaching and learning resulting from the research and study being conducting in engineering education. This event will allow you to learn more about our doctoral program in the cutting-edge field of engineering education. You will learn more about admissions, program requirements, funding opportunities, and research. You will also meet with current PhD students who will provide you with insight into our program and a personal tour of the
Some of the most common careers in engineering education include researcher and/or teacher in academia, consultant or trainer in industry, policy maker in government or non-profit sectors, and teaching in K-12. It is apparent there is a broad spectrum of opportunities for individuals with their advanced degrees in engineering education.

The Department of Engineering Education is also providing travel grants up to $250 for qualified individuals. Resumes and transcripts must be received by September 30th for consideration (recipients will be notified via email by October 3rd).
The Department of Engineering Education is proud to offer full tuition support and stipends through teaching assistantships to all PhD students offered admission into its program. Therefore, this visit will be an excellent opportunity for you to explore Engineering Education at Virginia Tech.
