Each One Mentor One: Graduate student engagement in FREEDM pre-college programs.
Dr. Lisa Grable, Pre-College Outreach Coordinator

The first half of the seminar will focus on the ERC's pre-college

education program. Dr. Lisa Grable will speak for 20-30 minutes on the new Expert Classroom Visitor Program (ECVP) she has developed for NCSU students to assist in visits to local schools. This presentation will also give an overview of other grad student opportunities, such as the Science Olympiad and research presentations. Graduate students interested in pre-college outreach activities to improve their ability to communicate about engineering and mentor younger students should attend.

New Graduate Certificate Program in Renewable Electric Energy Systems (REES).
Dr. Mesut Baran

The second half of the seminar will focus on the new graduate level academic certificate program in REES. The Graduate Certificate in REES helps students to develop expertise in renewable electric energy systems and advanced power grid technology in addition to their major area of study. This certificate program is an opportunity to learn about the new Renewable Energy based electric power generation technologies and also become recognized with a certificate.
