The University Graduate Student Association and the Graduate School are pleased to announce the Fifth Annual NC State University Graduate Student Research Symposium. The goals of the symposium are to showcase the outstanding quality and diversity of graduate-level research at NC State, in addition to providing students with the opportunity to practice their communication skills with those outside of their discipline. The symposium is also designed to demonstrate the importance of graduate level research to state decision-makers.

The Symposium is intended to spotlight exceptional graduate student researchers. Each Director of Graduate Programs is invited to nominate five graduate students (either master’s or doctoral) to represent their graduate program. Posters will be judged by faculty in the academic areas that are represented at the symposium.

Posters must be a maximum of 4' high x 6' wide. Pushpins will be provided. Students may use posters that they have already presented at another conference, if they choose to do so. The UGSA and Graduate School do not have funds available to cover poster printing costs. Both the production of the poster and associated costs are the responsibility of the presenters.

ECE students wishing to participate in the Symposium should contact the Director of Graduate Programs at ece_grad_office@ncsu.edu by January 13, 2010. Students selected will then be contacted with further instructions on submitting their abstracts by the February 4th deadline.
