will produce graduates who:
-
will utilize mathematics, science and
engineering to identify, formulate, analyze and solve electrical
and computer engineering
problems. By engineering,
we mean the skills, tools, and experimental techniques
involved in the practice of engineering.
-
will design electrical and
computer systems, components and processes to meet desired needs.
This objective includes
the ability to work effectively
on interdisciplinary teams and to communicate effectively
with team members to achieve design objectives.
-
will engage
in lifelong learning in their profession as well as in contemporary
issues of importance to
the communities
in which they live
and work.
-
will exercise professional and ethical responsibility,
and have the broad education necessary to understand
the impact
of engineering solutions
in a global and societal context.
Within the Scope of electrical and computer engineering we will
create
-
A department responsive to the needs of the citizens and industry
of North Carolina in the tradition of a Land Grant University.
-
A flexible program offering undergraduate and graduate degree
courses to part-time and non-traditional students.
-
A curriculum review process in which curricula and courses are
monitored by a Courses and Curriculum Committee.
-
A development program to improve faculty research and teaching
skills, subject knowledge, and engineering practice.
-
A process that maximizes the resources available for teaching
and research.
-
A renewed departmental structure that aligns faculty expertise
with the strategic needs of the University.
-
A program that recognizes and encourage diversity.
-
A program that attracts top students.
