Project Overview

Principal Investigator: Paul D. Franzon
PhD Students: David Nackashi

This molecular electronics research project was initiated in December of 1999.  The research is performed in conjunction with Dr. John Reif, Department of Computer Science, Duke University.  The goal of this project is to first design a logic family using the molecular diodes designed and fabricated by Dr. James Tour, Rice University, and Dr. Mark Reed, Yale University.  From this family, more complex circuits and systems are currently being explored for applications such as data encryption and simple microprocessors.
