Important Information

Congratulations Fall 2011 Graduates!  It is my privilege to manage the ceremony honoring graduating students from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering this Fall.  I hope you find the arrangements satisfactory.  We are currently working to finalize the details of the ceremony.  We will continue to update this page as the details come together.

Tickets

Tickets will not be needed this Fall for families to attend.

Guests

McKimmon Center will open for guests at 8:30 am.   Please no food or beverage in the ballroom. Marshals will be standing by to assist guests requiring accommodation for a disability or any assistive devices or services.  If you need assistance, please notify the nearest marshal.  Marshals are distinguished by a name tag with a red ribbon.

Parking for the ceremony will be available for free in parking lot outside of the McKimmon Center.

Pictures

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has hired a professional photographer to capture the moment each student receives their diploma. A proof photo will be sent to the graduating student’s permanent address with information on how to purchase prints.

Students

You may purchase your cap, gown and tassel at the bookstore.  Grad students need a hood appropriate for their degree.

Graduating students should arrive at the McKimmon Center in academic apparel no later than 8:15 am. This is important since you will be immediately organized by degree program.  Marshals will be standing by to direct you to the line up area.

Staff from the Student Services Office will be waiting there with a printed card with your name and a number on it. The card indicates your place in line.

Reception

Light refreshments will be served immediately following the ceremony.   We hope that you and your guests will take the opportunity to join the ECE faculty, staff, and fellow graduates to celebrate with before departing.  There is to be no food or drink brought back into the ballroom.

Diplomas

Diplomas will be mailed to your home mailing address.  You can update this address through your MyPack Portal.  Diplomas will be mailed around mid-February.
