Jan 15, 2003

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is honored to be represented at the 2003 Nation Conference on Undergraduate Research by senior Frederick Livingston. Chosen from over 2,300 student abstracts, Livingston’s presentation concerns a human-robot interface.

NCUR 2003 will bring together undergraduates involved in scholarly and artistic activities representing a range of disciplines including creative arts, mathematics, business, social science, humanities, physical and life sciences, natural resources, and engineering, among others. Participants are expected to come to the University of Utah from over 300 colleges and universities representing almost every state in the nation.

Since its inception in 1987, NCUR has become a major annual event drawing over 2,000 undergraduates, faculty, and administrators to hear and discuss undergraduate creative and scholarly work.

In addition, NCUR presents an opportunity to hear nationally prominent speakers and to discuss educational policy, programs, and funding for undergraduate scholarly work. Bruce Alberts, president of the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C. is one of this year’s plenary speakers.
