Students participating in the ECE department’s summer program will demonstrate their completed projects in autonomous robots this Friday. All our program participants are high school students from around the country, either rising juniors or seniors. They’ve spent a week in the department engaged in hands-on activities, research, learning engineering problem-solving techniques–both individually and in teams–and familiarizing themselves with the engineering profession and the Department. Students have learned basic programming and electronics, how to use a microcontroller and circuit construction techniques to build roving vehicles. The completed vehicles will be demonstrated in a competition beginning at 10:30 a.m. Friday in 346 Daniels Hall.
