NCSU breaks ground on Computer Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering building

Future Site of the ECE DepartmentN.C. State University is digging in for the next phase of a major construction project. The university broke ground on a new engineering building on Centennial Campus on Friday. The Department of Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering is gaining a $35 million facility with more than 200,000 square feet. It will contain modern classrooms and state-of-the-art labs and offices. The money for the project is a result of the $3.1 billion University of North Carolina Higher Education Bond Referendum that passed in 2000. Construction should be finished by 2005.
