ECE Students Elena Nicolescu and Sai Fu Win Poster Prize at Optics in the Southeast

Graduate students Elena Nicolescu and Sai Fu won the runner-up Poster Prize at the SPIE/OSA Optics in the Southeast Conference (Charlotte, Sept 2006). Their poster was entitled "Simplified Spectrometers Based On Polarization-Independent Liquid Crystal Filters", reporting their progress on research in OLEG (Opto-electronics and Lightwave Engineering Group, directed by Dr. Michael Escuti).
