The ECE Department Welcomes Dr. David Schurig and Dr. James Tuck

The department is pleased to announce the additions of Dr. David Schurig and Dr. James Tuck to the ECE faculty.

Dr. Schurig comes to the department from Duke University.  Previous to Duke University, Dr. Schurig was with the University of California, San Diego.  He has also worked at Tristan Technologies Inc. and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory.  Dr. Schurig holds a Ph. D. from the University of California, San Diego and a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley.  His research interests include transformation design method and metamaterials: tools to realize invisibility and other interesting effects.

Dr. Tuck comes to the department from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received a Ph. D. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering.  He has previously worked at and attended Vanderbilt University, where he earned a B.E. in Computer Engineering.  His research interests include Computer Architecture and Systems including Compiler Code Generation / Code Optimization, Memory Systems / Memory Management, Microprocessor Architecture, and Parallel and Distributed Computer Architecture.
