col-lo-qui-um [kuh-loh-kwee-uhm]; Latin from colloquī, to talk together: An academic seminar on a broad field of study, usually led by a different lecturer at each meeting.
Created and hosted by the NC State Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the ECE Distinguished Speaker Colloquium is our flagship seminar series, featuring presentations from distinguished speakers drawn from both academia and industry who will address a wide variety of topics of interest to our community. Everyone is invited to attend, from undergraduates on up to faculty and industry friends -- the level of the presentations will be for non-specialists and accessible to students.
The Distinguished Speaker Colloquium is sponsored by our friends at Fluor.
All talks are scheduled to take place at 1 pm in Room 1021 at Engineering Building II (unless noted otherwise), the department's state-of-the-art research and teaching home on NC State's award-winning Centennial Campus. Each talk will be free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served 30 minutes before each presentation.
Directions to Engineering Building II may be found online. Parking is available in the nearby Partners Way Deck located on Partners Way (approximately 200 spaces; follow pay lot signs). It is a "pay and display" self-pay system; purchase anticipated parking time, pay and display receipt on windshield. Note: This deck ONLY accepts credit card payment - Master Card, Visa, Discover and American Express.
