Adjunct Professor

| Biography

My interest is to advocate and I am instrumental for the establishment of one of the most complex and advanced technology initiatives “Multi-scale, Cross-Discipline Researches for Innovations” at the Army Research Laboratory and academia. The goal is to push the nation’s materials research through innovation into the next frontier and also to enhance the nation’s economic competiveness. At a larger scale, a national initiative, Materials Genome Initiative (MGI) has been established by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy under the President’s Advanced Manufacturing Initiative. The participants in MGI include all government agencies, academia and industry. Specifically, through the cross-discipline research and taking advantage of the advancement in computation, biotechnology and nanotechnology, major advancement in materials fundamental understanding and performance enhancement can be realized. Both science management and science and technology specifics are equally important to foster innovations and to assure success.
