Diversity
Particular consideration will be given to diversity at this REU site. We strongly encourage applications from students coming from underrepresented groups. We believe educating our students about the importance of diversity in engineering is critically important for their success in their careers as engineers or educators. As a member of the senior personnel, Dr. Christine Grant, who has an NSF grant for the Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) to enhance the development of underrepresented minorities (URM) in science and engineering leads this effort. Dr. Grant also organizes the seminars of “PURPOSE”, which the ECE-REU takes part in by contributing to sponsoring of one of the invited speakers during the summer program.
