Faculty-2-Faculty Mentor Awards

Thirty-one College faculty members were recognized for their outstanding mentorship at the spring faculty meeting. To honor their accomplishments, each individual became recipients of the inaugural Faculty-2-Faculty Mentor Recognition. Of those who were acknowledged, seven were members from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.


Thirty-one College faculty members were recognized for their outstanding mentorship at the spring faculty meeting. To honor their accomplishments, each individual became recipients of the inaugural Faculty-2-Faculty Mentor Recognition.

Of those who were acknowledged, seven members from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering were included:

  • Brian Hughes
  • Eddie Grant
  • Leda Lunardi
  • Mesut Baran
  • Scott Ferguson
  • Yan Solihin
  • Rajinder Khosla

One of the recipients, Yan Solihin, along with collegue Tania Paskova are also named as program directors at the National Science Foundation.

In January, which is recognized as National Mentoring Month, the College of Engineering Faculty Advancement’s junior faculty invited members to nominate a professor who dedicated themselves to providing strong mentoring and support through the guidance of professional development and career paths.

Dr. Christine Grant, the Associate Dean of Faculty Advancement in the College commented, “The mentorship of our early career faculty is an important component of what we do in the College of Engineering as they navigate their professional environment and career path.” Grant, as well as Peggy A. Pritchard presented signed copies of their book “Success Strategies from Women in STEM” to each recipient.
