ECE Ph.D. Student Receives Best Paper Award

Presentation of Vineet's Best Paper Award Vineet Kulkarni, a Ph.D. Student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, has been selected as one of the 14 best submissions out of 1204 papers.  His paper, titled "Social Distance Aware Resource Allocation in Wireless Networks", was presented during the IEEE Global Communications 2009 Conference (IEEE GLOBECOM) held in Honolulu, HI in December.  Vineet is advised by Michael Devetsikiotis, a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

IEEE GLOBECOM 2009 is the premier communications event for Industry Professionals and Academics from Companies, Governmental Agencies, and Universities around the World themed "Riding the Wave to Global Connectivity." The conference covers the entire range of communications technologies, offering in-depth information on the latest developments in voice, data, image, and multimedia.
